Plantagenet Aquitaine Mount Barker Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Simple tasting note, still a little oak showing but it hits all the sweet spots on its journey 94 points and not a lot more can be asked of a wine. The question raised is there enough complexity to warrant those points and the price of $35. The answer is yes there is, the give and take fruit showing then withdrawing, tannin nipping around the edges, yes it’s all good and should change for the better over time. Tony Keys.

Fullylove Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir 2016

Funky and earthy aromas greet you along with fresh berries, blackcurrants, cherry and raspberry. These are all here along with tight tannins, adding to the mouth feel and balance of the wine. Light but, complex, a great match with duck. Enjoy now but will improve for 3 to 5 years. Stephen Read.

A classic Adelaide Hills pinot noir, rich ruby red on the nose with abundant hints of the forest and cherry. On the palate it is earthy with subtle oak and secondary hints of raspberry and berry. This is a wine that will definitely get better with some time in the cellar. A perfect match with a fragrant duck korma. Greg Swift.

Rich dark plum hues that are the hallmarks of this powerful full bodied Shiraz. All pepper and spice with subtle overtones of smokiness. The wine is ample and bold on the palate and its superb construction delivers its long finish. A wine to be enjoyed now but will be even more alluring with cellaring for up to five years. Greg Swift.

The powerful nose on this wine draws you in, complex and inviting. Ripe blackberry, plum and a nice leafiness leading to a big mouth filling, complex balanced palate. Meeting the nose are powerfully balanced berries and chocolate with intricate hints of mint. A bold example of the McLaren Vale varietal; it is distinctive and rewarding. Approachable, full flavour with peppermint and cassis type influences, this is a wine that intrigues and certainly delivers its promise through its smooth finish. Match with Osso bucco and a hearty gremolata. Greg Swift.
