Almost clear with a tinge of straw colour and with bright sparkle to the wine. The aromas that greet the nose are pears, tropical fruit with hints of almonds. Very complex with more appearing as the wine breathes. In the mouth there are a complex range of flavours with pears and tropical fruit featuring. Clean astringent acid add to the well balanced and slightly oily finish. Great to have with spicy Asian style dishes, enjoy now and for the next 2 years. Stephen Read.
Star bright straw with a green tinge greets the eye. The bouquet has complex aromas of stone fruits, along with green apple, creamy oak and hints of vanilla. Hints of melon and peach balanced by clean acid and soft oak tones show the cool climate heritage of this wine. There is good length to the finish adding to the medium bodied mouth feel. A good example of this variety, dark purple in colour, clear and bright. Strong aromas of sweet blackcurrants, mint, cigar box and herbal notes along with tomato bush add to the complex bouquet. Sweet blackcurrant along with tight tannins and good acid balance this complex wine. Finishing up long leaving the mouth clean and fresh. Cellar potential is 5+ years to get the best from this wine. Aglianico is a grape variety originating in Greece but now grown mainly in Southern Italy. Dark red, dense but bright and clear. Aromas of white pepper, sweet plum and cedar are evident along with other sweet black fruits, intense and complex. Green tight tannins along with spicy white pepper are on the front balanced with sweet fruit and a tight acidic astringent finish. Well balanced and with good with length of finish, will improve with 3 + years cellaring. Stephen Read.
Mataro is a variety we are starting to see more of, this is a good example of what we can produce in Australia. Plum, blackberry, mint along with hints of smokiness add to this complex bouquet. This leads to the complex but well balanced palate. Spicy on the front with chalky tannins balanced by sweet dark fruits and clean acid. Finishes with a good length. Dense purple red with aromas of dark berry fruits, smoky oak, cedar and spice. All in a very complex package, the power of the bouquet hides the 15.5 % alcohol of this wine. Complex, balanced and full you will find silky tannins, along with full berry fruits, spice and beautifully balanced acid. You could enjoy this now but age for 7+ years to get the best. Stephen Read.
This cool climate chardonnay has all the characteristics you would expect from this area. Pear, melon and floral tones are all in the complex but subtle bouquet. This transpires into a clean but complex medium bodied palate. Stone fruits and melon are complemented by clean astringent acid, leading to a long well balanced finish.
