Aglianico is a grape variety originating in Greece but now grown mainly in Southern Italy. Dark red, dense but bright and clear. Aromas of white pepper, sweet plum and cedar are evident along with other sweet black fruits, intense and complex. Green tight tannins along with spicy white pepper are on the front balanced with sweet fruit and a tight acidic astringent finish. Well balanced and with good with length of finish, will improve with 3 + years cellaring. Stephen Read.
