Petit Verdot as a varietal in Australia is traditionally unheard of. In Bordeaux it sits perfectly in their traditional mix. This 100% Petit Verdot from the unfashionable Clare Valley puts it’s hand
up and says look at me! Deep inky red in the glass, the nose has attractive blackcurrant and violet hues. The palate is the biggest surprise with earthy licorice, red plum with some oak maturation evident. And to top it off the lingering finish has some soft tannins. Leo Daly

Complex aromas of red fruits with floral notes, ripe blackcurrants and subtle vanilla oak make up the nose. It’s colour is dense inky red nearly black, clear and bright whilst the palate is also intense. Starting with active clean tannins, spice at the front, with red fruits, subtle oak all combining in layers of flavour and texture. The acid is firm and adds to the overall balance. Give this wine 5+ years in the cellar for its best. Stephen Read
